Endemic to the Hawaiian Islands, the koa phyllode (the "adult leaf" of the tree) has a distinctive sickle shape. Inspired by the koa trees along Kipuka Puaulu ("Bird Park") in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, I created this delicate crescent moon shaped necklace.
In Hawaiian, the word koa means "brave" or "fearless."
Cast in sterling silver with contrasting 14kt gold-filled chain. Also available with sterling silver chain.
Available in 16" and 18" chain length. Leaf is just over 1" long.
Vermeil and gold-filled chain version can be found here.
